Victoria Hansen started to form impressions of life through the camera lens at the age of fifteen when she was fortunate enough to be given her first camera.

Victoria graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in English, and has continued her studies at the International Center of Photography, the Santa Fe Workshops, and the Anderson Ranch. Her work has been selected for a juried exhibition at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado. Camera Arts magazine selected the images for this show entitled “The Essence of Portraiture.”  And currently her work is on exhibit in the Summer 2014 juried exhibition at The Palm Beach Photographic Centre in West Palm Beach, Florida.  She has also  participated in several group exhibitions including The Roaring Fork Open at the Aspen Art Museum and her photographs have been exhibited and sold at The National Arts Club in New York.

Victoria responds to Paolo Roversi’s description of image-making: “The magic of the photographic image is the indefinable mix of realism and fiction, abstract and concrete, illusion and truth.”

Based in New York, she continues to make images using both film and digital formats.
